These worksheets focus on capital letters and pre-writing patterns. Joined-up (cursive) writing can also be taught in Kindergarten (age 5), depending on the child and with the teacher’s support. Adapt the activities to what their class is learning.
Strokes are drawn from top to bottom and circles counterclockwise. This is the direction of future cursive writing: better slow in the right direction than fast in the wrong one. The advice page at the beginning of the PDF shows these guidelines.
Five to ten minutes: a five-year-old child's hand tires quickly. Three well-drawn lines are better than a sloppy page — and successes are displayed on the fridge.
