You’ve been on the same pharmacology chapter for four hours. The page is almost entirely yellow — which means you haven’t sorted anything at all.
You close the binder telling yourself you’ll reread tomorrow. Tomorrow, you’ll reread exactly the same page.
And it’s not a problem of work: you work a lot. It’s a problem of hooking.
You do understand: physiology makes sense, mechanisms follow. What is asked of you is to recall lists — drug classes, side effects, contraindications, normal values.
But highlighting is recognizing. And recognizing is not remembering: during the exam, there is no yellow page under your eyes.
What you lack is not hours of revision. It is a hook per list, something that comes back even at 8 a.m., even stressed.
It reassures you at the moment, and almost leaves nothing the next day. It’s the most used method, and the least effective.
Hours of copying that sort the content. Useful — but a note is reread, it doesn’t stick by itself.
Excellent for checking what you already know. They don’t make you remember what you don’t know yet.
